Fake rock and stone are the hot ticket items these days when it comes to decorative concrete.  In many cases builders, landscapers, and masons are using fake stone to add to the décor and structure of there project.

Fake Stone like all of the fake rock products are made from state of the art synthetic material, polyurethane. Color pigments are used in molds to create the authentic look of actual stone.   Molds come in many shapes and sizes and are being used in the smallest size to large boulders .

Interior designers are also using fake stone, brick veneers, panels and to create a look and feel that is unique and adds character and charm to an office or business.  Day spas are using this material to create a peaceful and “close to nature” approach for clients.  This installation and construction of interior fake rock beds, quite streams of water coursing through is very popular.

Landscapers have been using fake stone for water installation projects for years, now you are seeing many outdoor projects.  The landscaper is able to match the fake stone, brick or rock, to look similar to actual stone that are indigenous to that particular area.   Using fake stone or brick for walkways, patios, or skirting around pools are ways that landscapers are using faux rock. 

Landscaping is a big business in both residential and commercial sectors.  Many people are now using fake rock in there gardens.  Access to actual stone and rock are harder to come by and can be qui expensive.  Many landscaping projects use a variety of fake stone for retaining walls.  These stones can be laid directly on the ground or on a bed of sand to create a path or walkway. 

Fake stone are also being used to form rings around trees for protection to create a trench like enclosement for the newly planted tree.  These stones can be made in both strait and curved sections to also enclose a flower bed as needed. Preventing grass from growing in flower beds and protecting new trees as mentioned earlier.

Fake wood circles are also available which are made to resemble actual tree trunks that have been designed to look like cut sections that can also be used to go onto a path for a woodsy back to nature type of feel.

“DIY” enthusiasts should not shy away from using faux stone.  There are numerous home projects that are now being done.    Many homeowners are using fake stone to create walkways, fireplaces and fake  stone panels are also being applied to indoor walls to jazz up dens living rooms and even bathrooms.  Outside of the home, fake  stone is being used to create outdoor kitchens and barbeque areas.   Patios, fire pits, rock gardens allowing the homeowner to have an oasis right outside there back doors.  Gone are the days when the only thing in your back yard was lawn chairs, and maybe and above ground pool.  Using fake  stone products allow the homeowner to not only have the personal satisfaction of “getting there hands dirty” but also it increases the beauty and charm of there home.  Those in the real-estate industry knows that esthetics can increase the value of property by the “curb appeal” alone.

Why use fake stone you may ask?  Fake stone is centurion strong, durable able to handle the many changes and swings in the weather.  Lightweight, fake stone weights  about one pound per square foot.  The corners are in lineal foot.  Buying by the square foot overall costs less and the ease of installation is much easier than that of traditional masonry products.  Fake stone also adds structural support to any building but as mentioned earlier is lightweight and easy to work with.
